‘Melbourne Mornings’ is a new video series from The Design Files which follows inspiring local creatives on their various morning routines. It’s been a labour of love getting this series up, and in our usual determined fashion we’ve persevered (on a shoestring!) to create something we hope you will LOVE. We hope that creating video content on a regular basis will offer an even richer, more inspiring layer of content for you to enjoy, and will give us a whole new channel to continue telling the stories of the talented creatives who make this town tick. (For now, we’re only filming this series in Melbourne, but we do plan to start shooting further afield once the momentum picks up!).
Credit where credit is due to our brilliant collaborator Paris Thomson of SIRAP who made this film – so much respect and endless gratitude to this hardworking and talented lady! The beautiful music accompanying this film is a track entitled ‘Dawn’ by Digging Holes, featuring local vocalist Allison Turek – you can download this track for free at www.triplejunearthed.com/artist/digging-holes.
Our first episode in this series follows Brunswick based florist Melanie Stapleton of Cecilia Fox, who wakes at 3.45am (!!) three days a week for a SUPER early start at the Melbourne flower markets. I don’t know how she does it – with a two year old at home too. The secret, Mel says, is to never, ever hit snooze!
This is the first in a series of six ‘Mebourne Mornings’ films, we’ll release one a month from now until mid-year… it’s just the start of lots more inspiring video content on TDF! We really hope you love it.
