The Outlanders is our newest video series, featuring Australian creatives living and working abroad (because you know, it’s not already challenging enough making films every month without attempting to make them in different countries).
ANYWAY we are SUPER excited to launch this series, and share a little insight into the triumphs and challenges that some of our most talented creative exports have faced setting up new lives and careers overseas.
We’re kicking things off today with stylist Glen Proebstel, who moved to Manhattan three years ago. We visit Glen at home, and follow him through the streets of Chelsea and SoHo before shadowing him on a photoshoot for US furniture and homewares brand, West Elm. Along the way, Glen shares some of the highlights and challenges he has faced since making the big move overseas.
‘New York is a city of such exhilarating contrasts. No day is ever the same and even after almost three years of living here I am still constantly inspired and challenged, simultaneously. It’s a city overflowing with creative energy and endless possibilities’ – Glen Proebstel.
