You might have noticed something rather important was omitted from our Top Picks for Melbourne Design Week earlier today. Our very OWN event: TDF TALKS! What can we say…. we just didn’t want to blow our own trumpet!
Following sell-out sessions at The Design Files Open House 2017, our series of informative and inspiring chats with local designers, architects and creatives will be this time presented as a panel, moderated by our very own Lucy Feagins.
On Thursday evening, March 22nd, ‘Happiness by Design: Product Design and Experiences’ will be a lively discussion between Amanda Henderson of Gloss Creative, designer/illustrator/artist Beci Orpin, and Zoe Meagher, experience developer at Museums Victoria. Each of these local legends have their own perspectives on how design can play a role in the creation of inspiring, mood-enhancing experiences, products and spaces.
The next evening, Friday, March 23rd, we’ll be presenting ‘Happiness by Design: Designing Happy Homes and Cities’, this time summoning the stellar line-up of Rob Adams, director of city design at City of Melbourne , Andrew Maynard of Austin Maynard Architects and Rachel Nolan of Kennedy Nolan. We’ll be asking these esteemed panelists how homes and cities can and should be designed with happiness in mind.
Both 60-guest sessions will be hosted at the beautiful NGV Members Lounge, at NGV International in Melbourne. Tickets are on sale now at AUD$22.00, with 100% of proceeds going to our friends at Lighthouse Foundation – a Cremorne-based charity doing brilliant work to provide homeless young people with a home and tailored therapeutic care.
