Presenting his largest show to date, famed British product designer Lee Broom has turned the carpark of Space Furniture in Alexandria into an immersive, breathtaking installation showcasing over 100 of his exquisite lighting designs, as well as furniture and accessories.
‘Australia has been a big supporter of my work for many years,’ says Lee of his Australian exhibition, ‘it is an honour to create a significant installation to showcase my collection in Sydney.’
Park Life takes inspiration from the recreational pleasure gardens of the 18th century, where visitors would go to keep up appearances and explore art, architecture, music, and illuminations. Classical statues, vessels, and busts line white gravel pathways through secret doors, hidden passageways, mirrors, and mazes, taking guests on a poetic journey of discovery of tableaus and vignettes.
Each conceptual scene is characterised by a spectacular installation of Lee’s work, including the word first debut of his award-winning Eclipse lights in a polished gold finish. A particularly striking room features Lee’s Lens Flair pendant lights in matte black and brushed brass reimagined as chess pieces, hanging above a floor of gravel and stone laid out in chessboard formation.
Don’t miss your chance to see this incredible exhibition – it’s only open until Wednesday!
