We’re back with our second installment of We, The Brave, our newest video series, created in partnership with Broadsheet and MYOB! This series introduces three inspiring self-made, self-employed creatives who are each bravely forging their own creative paths in business, with brilliant results!
Eve Wilson is a name that’s probably familiar to many of you! Eve’s stunning photography has graced the pages of The Design Files for many years, and she also shoots regularly for magazines including Inside Out, House and Garden, Belle, and many other local and international titles. Capturing architecture, interiors, food, travel and lifestyle imagery, Eve’s crisp, luminous aesthetic has become a firm fixture in the Australian media landscape.
After studying Photography at RMIT, Eve first worked as an assistant to advertising photographer Stuart Crossett for nearly 5 years – before deciding to take the leap and launch her own career in 2011. It was a daunting move to stop assisting and make her own name as a photographer – as she says in this video, when Eve first decided to go it alone, she had no clients! However, as she explains, it was so important for her, both financially and creatively, to draw a line in the sand, and go solo.
Fast forward to 2019, and Eve’s portfolio is brimming with stunning work produced for Australian book publishers, magazines, architects and designers. That ‘now-or-never’ moment really paid off!
Balancing an easy-going and always upbeat temperament, with meticulous precision behind the lens, it’s no surprise to us that Eve’s career has blossomed over the past eight years. We can’t wait to see where her work ends up next!
