Amanda Dziedzic and Laurel Kohut are the dynamic duo behind glass art studio HotHaus.

Since 2019, the two friends have created colourful vessels, vases, and delicate handblown glass objects from their Heidelberg West workshop. But after years’ worth of work and research, HotHaus is expanding to to launch its first foray into lighting, HausLights!

‘We have been manufacturing lighting for other designers for years, and finally we felt it was time to bring our own designs to life,’ Amanda says.

The new range called Aglow is launching tonight in the TDF gallery as part of Melbourne Design Week 2024 and is already available to shop online.

Amanda and Laurel each produced their own series as part of the collection. Laurel’s The Mellow range is made up of three unique pendant lights with varying silhouettes, offering a contemporary take on the classic droplet and oval shaped lighting.

Meanwhile, The Colourscapes by Amanda features a gorgeous wall sconce light, available in differing sizes and five spectacular colourways.

In addition to drawing on her signature marbled glass technique, Amanda looked to the autumn skies for inspiration in these new pieces.

‘Each piece is its own work of art,’ she says. ‘No two are ever identical, just like the clouds we watch shift above us.’

She adds that this new product line is everything we’ve come to know and love from HotHaus, with a twist: ‘HotHaus has a reputation for being bold with our colour choices and this show is absolutely no exception.’

‘The colour choices are so inviting and the gallery space evokes such a warmth to it. Paired with our lights it is a sight to behold. HausLights is the next chapter for HotHaus and we are very ready to welcome you in.’
