Alice Oehr is a long-time-pal of The Design Files, and general art star in Australia! There are few creative pursuits Alice hasn’t turned her hand to…and one of the many strings to her multicoloured bow is running still life drawing classes. Alice has created wonderlands of bread, cake, flowers, bricks, house plants, eggs, rocks, pots and shells for her super popular iPad Pro drawing classes – and her next class will try their hand at drawing Amanda Dziedzic’s stunning Colourscapes exhibition at the TDF gallery.
But this isn’t your easel and smudge-of-charcoal standard life drawing situation. Alice provides all students with an Apple iPad Pro, to explore the world of digital drawing. If it’s good enough for David Hockney, it’s good enough for us! Alice explains ‘there are heaps of different tools inside the iPad Pro which allows people to try out all different mediums – paint, pencil, pastel, oil paint, watercolour, spray paint – all with no mess!’ All iPad Pro’s are provided, so all you need to bring is a readiness to experiment.
Artist David Hockney stated ‘I just happen to be an artist who uses the iPad, I’m not an iPad artist. It’s just a medium’. Let your creative vibes flow, as you capture Amanda’s rainbow works! Tickets available here.
