Take a drive this weekend to Kilcunda, on Victoria’s Bass Coast, where an exciting new retail precinct is being unveiled.
This Saturday marks the official opening of The Sticks Kilcunda located in the South Gippsland coastal town between Phillip Island and Wonthaggi (just over an hour from Melbourne).
The precinct forms a new town square of sorts designed for residents and visitors to catch up over a drink, engage with community events, pick fresh produce, and partake in some retail therapy.
The landscaped hub comprises six pods, each with their own tenant.
Among them is Udder & Hoe — an established grocer that’s made the move to Kilcunda — providing the town with produce, espresso, wine, and aperitivo.
They’re joined by homeware and outdoor living store Copper Door Kilcunda; Sophie Fletcher Designs selling unique decal stickers; hairdresser Hair Vision by Holly; Above & Beyond Bookkeeping; and clothing and homeware store Cove Boutique that offers women and kids apparel, plus unique giftware.
This summer, you’ll also find Licca Lucca on the terrace selling their authentic Italian gelato.
The Sticks Kilcunda has been sensitively designed by a local collaborative of creatives: Branch Studio Architects, Orchard Design (landscape architects), and The Set (design and interiors).
Visit The Sticks this Saturday January 27 for the official opening commencing at 10am with a Welcome To Country address by Steven Ulula Parker of Millowl Dreaming.
There will be live music, special offers, plus pop up offerings from Illoura The Label, Carly Meade, The Muffin Lady, By Georgia jewellery and more.
Ongoing, The Sticks Kilcunda will provide short-term pop-up style opportunities for local and non-local retail traders, designers, and creatives to showcase their products.
The precinct will also host a variety of programs and events catering to the ever-expanding coastal village.
