Craft Victoria’s latest exhibition, ‘YARN‘, brings together the work of seven Indigenous makers. The show is presented as part of NAIDOC week and connects to this year’s theme, ‘For Our Elders.’

It’s been curated by Jahkarli Felicitas Romanis and show draws on important oral histories and the significance of knowledge sharing through conversation and listening. These stories, lived experiences, knowledge, and relational connections to Country are woven within each of the artist’s practices.

The exhibition includes a beautifully woven Namarnkol (Barramundi) by Leanne Namarnyilk; repurposed rope, raffia, feather, and bamboo sculptures by Kuku Yalanji/Kalkadoon artist Kim Ah Sam; beautiful wooden works by Carissa Gurwalwal; plus paintings by Gunditjmara Keerray Woorroong woman Tarryn Love, Nicholas Currie, and Bundjalung/Dunghutti man Brad Webb.

‘YARN’ is proudly presented as part of NAIDOC Week 2023, is running until 16 September 2023.
